Start with three days of mountain trekking through traditional Berber villages, terraced fields, and stunning valleys. Then journey through ancient kasbahs and dramatic gorges to reach the towering dunes of the Sahara, where you'll experience camel trekking, desert camps, and unforgettable starlit nights.
This tour offers the perfect balance of adventure, culture, and natural beauty - from 4,000m mountain peaks to endless golden dunes. You'll stay with Berber families, explore UNESCO World Heritage sites, and create memories that last a lifetime.
Depart Marrakech early morning and drive to Imlil (1,740m), gateway to Mount Toubkal. Begin trekking through walnut groves and terraced fields. Visit traditional Berber villages like Armed and Aremd. Witness local life and agricultural practices unchanged for centuries. Overnight in mountain gite or with local Berber family.
Trekking: 4-5 hours | Accommodation: Mountain gite
Trek across scenic mountain passes with spectacular views of Mount Toubkal (4,167m). Cross through high-altitude valleys, passing shepherds with their flocks. Descend into the beautiful Ourika Valley with its waterfalls and green landscapes. Experience authentic Berber hospitality with evening meal and traditional music.
Trekking: 6-7 hours | Accommodation: Village guesthouse
Morning trek to Setti Fatma waterfalls. Enjoy final mountain views before descending. Return to Marrakech with time to rest and prepare for desert adventure. Evening briefing about the desert portion of your journey. Optional: explore Marrakech medina if time permits.

Cross the High Atlas via Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m) with panoramic views. Visit UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou kasbah - famous filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses to Dades Gorge. Marvel at the dramatic rock formations known as "Monkey Fingers". Overnight in Dades Valley.

Drive through stunning Todra Gorge with its 300m high cliff walls. Visit fossils and marble workshops in Erfoud. Arrive in Merzouga at the edge of Erg Chebbi dunes. Camel trek at sunset into the desert. Watch spectacular sunset over the dunes. Arrive at desert camp for traditional Berber dinner, music around fire, and sleep under the stars.
Camel trek: 1.5 hours | Accommodation: Desert camp
Wake early to watch magical sunrise over dunes. After breakfast, explore the desert - visit nomadic families, discover desert wildlife, try sandboarding on dunes. Option to take 4x4 tour to see desert lakes (seasonal), kohl mines, and Gnawa music village. Afternoon at leisure to relax in camp or climb dunes. Second night under desert stars with different camp location.

Wake for final desert sunrise. Camel trek back to Merzouga. Breakfast and freshen up. Begin return journey to Marrakech via alternative route through Draa Valley. Stop in Berber villages for tea and photos. Cross Atlas Mountains one final time. Arrive Marrakech evening with incredible memories of Morocco's two greatest landscapes.
