Day-by-Day Itinerary
Marrakech to Azib Tamsoult
Drive from Marrakech to Imlil, then continue to Tizi N'Tamatert. Begin trekking through beautiful valleys with terraced fields and walnut groves. Pass traditional Berber villages and climb steadily to reach Azib Tamsoult (2,200m), a remote shepherd settlement. Enjoy the peaceful mountain evening. Overnight in mountain shelter or camping.
Trekking: 4-5 hours | Ascent: 600m
Azib Tamsoult to Toubkal Refuge via Agalzim Pass
Early start to climb Tizi n'Agalzim pass (3,650m). Stunning views across multiple valleys and peaks. The pass offers dramatic scenery with less traffic than standard routes. Descend into the Toubkal Valley and reach Toubkal Refuge (3,207m). Rest and prepare for tomorrow's summit attempt. Early dinner and sleep before midnight departure.
Trekking: 6-7 hours | Ascent: 1,450m | Descent: 443m
Summit Toubkal - Return to Marrakech
Depart at 4:30 AM for summit push. Climb the scree slopes in darkness with headlamps. Watch sunrise from near the summit. Reach Toubkal peak (4,167m) - incredible 360° panorama of the Atlas Mountains and beyond. After photos and celebration, descend to refuge for breakfast. Continue descent to Imlil via Mizane Valley. Drive back to Marrakech, arriving late afternoon.
