Trek through walnut groves, cross small streams, and enjoy panoramic views of the High Atlas peaks. Stay overnight in a traditional gite where you'll share meals with your hosts and learn about daily life in these remote mountains. This trek is ideal for families, older travelers, or anyone seeking a gentle mountain experience with cultural immersion.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Marrakech to Imlil - Valley Trek to Tacheddirt

Morning departure from Marrakech (8:00am) with scenic drive through the Moulay Brahim Gorges to Imlil village (1,740m), gateway to the Toubkal National Park. Meet your mountain guide and mule handlers. Begin gentle trek through the Mizane Valley, walking alongside irrigation channels (seguias) that have fed the terraced fields for centuries. Pass through the Berber village of Aremd with its traditional stone houses. Continue climbing gradually through walnut and cherry orchards to reach Tacheddirt village (2,300m). Spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Afternoon free to explore the village, meet local families, and visit the small school. Evening meal and overnight in mountain gite.

Day 2

Tacheddirt to Imlil - Return Trek to Marrakech

After breakfast, begin descent back through the valley taking a different route via Tizi Mzik pass (2,500m) with stunning panoramas. Pass shepherds with their flocks grazing on mountain pastures. Descend to the village of Ikkis, then continue through terraced fields back to Imlil. Stop for lunch in Imlil with views over the valley. Afternoon return drive to Marrakech, arriving around 5:00pm. Perfect weekend escape bringing you close to mountain life and Berber culture.
