Summit North Africa's Highest Peak - 4,167m
Climb to the rooftop of North Africa with experienced local mountain guides
Mount Toubkal at 4,167 meters is the highest peak in North Africa and a must-do for mountain enthusiasts. This 3-day trek takes you through stunning Berber villages, alpine valleys, and rocky mountain terrain to reach the summit. Your local Berber guide Ibrahim, who has summited Toubkal hundreds of times, will lead you safely to the top. Experience breathtaking 360-degree views from the summit, taking in the Atlas Mountains, valleys below, and on clear days, the distant Sahara Desert. Trek through traditional villages, stay in mountain refuges, and immerse yourself in Berber mountain culture.
Depart Marrakech at 8am for a 1.5-hour drive to Imlil village (1,740m), the gateway to Toubkal. Meet your mountain guide and muleteer who will carry your main luggage. The path follows a clear trail alongside a river, through walnut groves and juniper forests. Reach Toubkal Refuge (Neltner Hut) at 3,207m in the afternoon. Settle in, enjoy dinner, and rest for tomorrow's early summit attempt.
